Band
Music is very much part of the life of St Devenick’s and the church band makes an important and creative contribution to our services.
The band usually leads the music in the All Age Worship service on the first Sunday of each month. It is a mixed group in many ways.
- a mix of instruments, ranging from violins to a baritone saxophone;
- a mix of ages, from those still at school to those who are retired;
- a mix of music from traditional hymns to modern worship songs; and
- a mix of levels of musical experience, from relative beginners, to those who have played for some considerable time.
But we are united in our desire to use our musical gifts in worshipping God.
We always welcome new players, so anyone who plays any instrument and would like to be part of the band should make themselves known to us. We practice once a month in the week prior to the All Age service.
