Youth
Young people matter at St Devenick’s. During Sunday services we run a separate programme for 10 to 18 year olds known as Youth Church.
Youth Church consists of teaching, discussion, prayer and games all geared towards where the young people are at in life and exploring how our faith interacts with the reality of being a teenager today.
The Upper Room, is a great hang out space for the young people with loads of sofa’s, cushions, art and music stuff. We meet here at the start of the service and spend some time together before splitting into smaller groups, then gather together again at the end.
We also run social events throughout the year such as movie nights, day trips, pizza nights, hot potato discussion evenings, tubing etc. We raise money for various charities such as Water Aid, Christian Aid, Cyrenians through activities ranging from a 24 hour fast, to sleeping rough for a night.
